MATOBO HILLS

Some of the most majestic granite scenery in the world is found in the Matobo Hills. It is here that the hopes, trials and tribulations of the San Bushmen are recorded in the ancient rock art. Mammal and bird species are prolific and include the highest concentration of leopard and black eagle in the world. It is here that Cecil John Rhodes chose to be buried, at World's View.

Tucked away into an ancient Bushman shelter, Camp Amalinda's charm will leave an indelible impression on every visitor. Enjoy the once in a lifetime experience of riding on the back of an African elephant. At Big Cave Camp, guests are accommodated in six delightful A-frame en suite chalets. Walks and drives in this fascinating area offer guests the opportunity of visiting rock art sites, World's View, historical battle sites or viewing the areas prolific game.
