ZIMBABWE

MANA POOLS

Since the dawn of time, the wildlife of the Zambezi Valley has used the lush expanse of the Mana Pools floodplain as a thoroughfare between the escarpment and the Zambezi River. Huge herds of elephant and antelope, pursued by the great predators, roam unhindered through this wild and ancient neighbourhood.

Ruckomechi Camp, resting in a forest of acacia and mahogany trees on the shores of the Zambezi and looking out across the river to the massive Zambian escarpment rising 2000 feet, has won "Best Safari Camp" for three years running. Ruckomechi consists of ten thatched chalets with en suite "bath and loo with a view" facilities, and an open bar and lounge right on the Zambezi River. Walks, drives, canoeing and fishing are on offer. Ruckomechi is also the starting point for a luxury three night Mana Pools Canoe Trail.

Kayila Lodge is an exclusive twelve bedded lodge situated on the northern banks of the Zambezi shoreline. Activities include day and night game drives, walks, hikes to the nearby escarpment with visits to the pools and waterfalls, canoeing, boating, tiger and bream fishing, or simply relaxing.
